Ditch those granny panties in exchange for some sexy underwear to boost your sexual confidence.

Intimacy advice straight from the mouths of sex therapists

Have you ever wondered what kind of advice sex therapists give their friends? Well, now you can get the inside scoop, thanks to a recent Redbook article. Here are a few highlights:

  • Ditch those granny panties – "When a friend told me she wanted her guy to make her feel more sensual, I told her that it was her responsibility to do that for herself first; her partner was there to enhance and stimulate her feelings of sexiness, but not to create them," Sofi Matz, a Florida-based relationship specialist and sexual health counselor, dished. "To get her started, I suggested she make it a priority to wear sexy, but still comfortable, underwear every single day."
  • Sleep naked to combat physical insecurities – As marriage and family psychotherapist Sharon Gilchrest O'Neill notes, women who feel self-conscious about their bodies after giving birth can regain some of their confidence by going out of their comfort zone and sleeping naked. Just feeling your husband's body up against yours is an important physical reminder that he still loves you and your body.
  • Stop fighting about sex and just do it – According to clinical psychology resident Dr. Robyn Cassel, it's common for couples to find themselves on different sex schedules, with neither party wanting to give in and have sex when the timing isn't ideal. Dr. Cassel says that it's important for couples to suck it up and just do it, as getting caught up in a battle about timing can quickly take the intimacy out of any relationship.
