Every relationship goes through its ups and downs, whether you've been together for years or have just celebrated your six-month anniversary. Often, though, there are simple ways to ensure that you and your partner are on the same page before any substantial rift occurs. We talk a lot about how to boost your sex life on this blog, but maintaining a healthy, meaningful relationship outside of the bedroom is just as important for keeping the spark alive as stocking up on sex aids.
Recently, researchers from Oxford University discovered one incredibly basic and enjoyable way to promote a strong connection between you and your loved one on a daily basis. According to the study, which Women's Health covered, "People who kiss more often tend to be more satisfied with their relationships—even though couples who have sex more often aren't necessarily any happier."
The study involved 900 participants in the United States and the United Kingdom who completed a questionnaire about their relationships and how they felt about kissing. "A few factors were associated with higher relationship quality: having a partner who was a ''good'' kisser, kissing more often, [and] being more satisfied with the frequency of kissing [and] sex," the source states.
Careful though, as we discussed in a past post, public displays of affection in the place of true communication can also be a sign of a fundamental disconnect between you and your partner. With that in mind, kiss and cuddle all you want, but be sure to exchange a few words at least before reaching for the water based lubricant.
