Dating over 50 can get a bit complicated.

Dating over 50: What are you looking for?

As much as we like to talk about how texting and other technological advancements have changed the face of dating, has anyone ever felt completely comfortable in this territory? Dating, in its very nature, is rife with confusion, insecurity and miscommunication – as well as a whole lot of fun. If you have found yourself looking for romance again in your 50s, though, it can be difficult to figure out where you stand. What should you prioritize at this stage? What do you really want from a partner?

Recently, the online dating website OurTime.com, which caters specifically to older adults, released the results of a survey about late-in-life romance. USA Weekend reported on the findings, specifically citing the top three factors that respondents widely viewed as "deal-breakers" when looking for love.

According to the report, the following factors would overwhelmingly make men and women think twice before scheduling a second date:

  • Attractiveness
  • Financial difficulties
  • Health.

In addition to these concerns, men and women who are exploring new relationships may encounter issues in the bedroom that require a bit of intervention. Vaginal dryness is an all-too-common occurrence for females who have gone through menopause, but it can often be resolved easily through the use of water based lubricants. You may even find that the introduction of these sex aids can actually help spice things up a bit – particularly when an arousal gel is involved.

You deserve to have a happy, healthy sex life, whatever your age or romantic experience, so if you've been hesitant to get back in the dating game, there is no time like the present to take a risk!
