Early morning intimacy may improve your health, according to research.

The benefits of early morning intimacy

Though you may not feel your most lustful or alluring when you first wake up in the morning, scientists have found that there are quite a few benefits to reaching for your sexual lubricant at the start of your day – both for your relationship and for your health.

According to research scientist and columnist Dr. Debby Herbenick, author of "Because It Feels Good, " the chemical processes that a bit of early morning intimacy spurs can impact everything from mood to skin complexion.

"Having sex in the morning releases the feel-good chemical oxytocin, which makes couples feel loving and bonded all day long," said Dr. Herbenick in an article for Women's Health magazine.

Dr. Herbenick added that by boosting levels of the infection-fighting antibody levels of IgA and estrogen, this activity can even bolster your immune system and enhance the appearance of your skin, hair and nails. The online healthy news outlet Medical Daily states that this particular benefit may be caused by improved circulation, enabling more oxgyen to reach your skin to give you a luminescent glow throughout the day.

Though the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction has reported that the majority of intimate encounters – approximately 58 percent – occur in the evening hours, these benefits may just inspire more couples to alter their habits. Cosmopolitan notes that, for men, testosterone levels peak in the early hours, which can lead to a more energetic and pleasurable experience for both parties. With a natural lubricant that is free of harsh chemicals, you can reap the benefits of any morning tryst.
